Pros: Alesis V25 is an inexpensive, compact MIDI keyboard controller with expanded features. It includes free downloads for Ableton Live Lite 9 and Xpand!2 by Air Music Tech and a Software Preset/Parameter utility. It works well with FL Studio 9 and higher, Logic Pro X, and Garage Band.
It has cool blue LEDs which illuminate the pads and the four knobs and buttons for positive visibility. It is quick to create assignments for the MIDI Learn feature, as a musician. The Octave Shift keys provide access to the entire note range. It has single USB cable that connects you to the computer for power and data.
It is extremely plug-and-play because of its compact and portability which you can easily travel with wherever you go.
Cons: One customer said that he finds the Alesis V25 that it requires little effort and time to get set up and running but once it gets working, it’s a pretty music interface. He gave average stars for the size, price, features and operation.
Another consumer said that he needs to return the item because the velocity is all over the board. At medium velocity, he was repeatedly playing the chords and suddenly the random keys from the chord suddenly spike to volume, or near. He downgraded the editor and changed the velocity curve, but he still getting the spikes. He put it through a midi monitor, and he can still see the spikes occurring.
